Strawberry sorbet

Who doesn’t like strawberry? Just a taste of strawberry sorbet and you’ll be in heaven, even higher if you put some whipped cream on it! Sorbets are a good substitute of gelato if you’d like to keep in shape, because their consistence is very similar, but they don’t have any kind of fats.

If you’re travelling through Italy it will be much easier to find sorbets in the South than in the North, because their are a part of the traditional cuisine of the South.

The recipe of this sorbet and most of the sorbets is really easy. It is a nice way to end your meal  if you have friends over, or if you just want something refreshing under the hot summer sun.


  • 250 g of strawberry
  • 150 ml of water
  • 100 g of sugar


The preparation of the strawberry sorbet is really fast, put the strawberry, the sugar and the water in a plastic beaker and blend everything with the immersion blender . When the mixture is homogeneous and the sugar is completely dissolved, turn on the gelato maker and pour the mix  and let it freeze for 20-30 minutes.

When the sorbet is ready you can serve it with whipped cream (if you want to make it on your own you can take for example 100ml of weap cream and 10 g of powdered sugar) or with fresh strawberries.
